Day 1: Major Home Renovation: a New Window Dormer

We decided some months ago that we wanted to install a new, wide dormer (containing 3 windows) on the 2nd floor of the house. We hired a contractor that installed dormers in another house in the neighborhood - as we run into a lot of folks walking the dogs each night. Last week, all the lumber was dropped off into the driveway (seen here). On Monday night, Tom and I moved all of the furniture, computer and TV away from the front wall of the house. Inside on Tuesday, August 4, the inside front wall of the upstairs "TV room/office" was torn out. On Day 2, the contractor is going to open up the roof...although there's a slight risk for severe thunderstorms in the evening...
