Home Project: But Not Ours!

Tom and Will working
Tom loves home projects and when he temporarily runs out of ideas he'll jump in and do a home project for someone else (although he does so many here, you'll have to get on his schedule.)  Because we sometimes watch our friend Yolie's cat and fish whenever she travels, Rob noticed that her top and bottom locks were not "cooperative," and in fact old. So, we bought a new lockset and Tom spent a couple of hours replacing the lock.

Sawing the doorknob off

The finished lockset on!

Tom widening the holes for the new locks
As usual, a simple change of locks took more than 30 minutes, because the doorknob wouldn't come off. In fact, it had it no pinholes to remove it, so we had to call our friend Will to come over and help figure it out. He and Tom wound up sawing the doorknob off!  Will brought a huge amount of tools and electric saw. I've never seen a tool bag as big as Will's, and it's a good thing he had it- it took both of them to change the locks!
