Wacky People in the News!

If you didn't catch all the wacky people in the news last week, you can catch up on them all here. The first one is the embodiment of hypocrisy. The second one is just bat-shit crazy, the third one obviously wouldn't know science from a hole in the wall, and the fourth one, well, it's just wacky.  (And ONE late-breaking addition at the bottom)

1)  Indiana  House Leader resigns after texting sexually explicit video of himself cheating on wife to everyone on his “Contacts” list
The second-highest ranked official in the Indiana House of Representatives resigned abruptly on Tuesday, the Indianapolis Star reported. The controversial House Majority Leader in Indiana — he cosponsored the state’s “religious freedom” law — resigned suddenly on Tuesday after a sexually compromising video was sent to all of the people on his “Contacts” list, the Advocate’s Bil Browning reports. IRONY: During his five years in the legislature, McMillin has crusaded to “protect the integrity of the institution of marriage,” but the Advocate reported that the woman on the video he texted was not, in fact, his wife.

2) Bachmann: God might turn Americans into salt over same-sex marriage
Republican Michele Bachmann has claimed that God might destroy America over same-sex marriage, like he destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah in the Bible.  Speaking on Christian radio show Understanding the Times , Bachmann delivered a warning that abortion and letting gays marry will cause the apocalypse. http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2015/09/28/bachmann-god-might-turn-americans-into-salt-over-same-sex-marriage/

3) Rush Limbaugh on Mars: NASA’s lying about flowing water on planet “to advance leftist agenda”
On his radio program Monday, Rush Limbaugh claimed that NASA’s announcement of the discovery of flowing water on Mars is part of some larger plan by the Obama administration “to advance the leftist agenda.”  He admitted that he doesn’t “know what it is, I would assume it would be something to do with global warming,” speculating that NASA would “find a graveyard” from “an advanced civilization” that crumbled because of climate change.

4) Preachers Lay Hands On Donald Trump, Guaranteeing That Jesus Will Vote For Him [VIDEO]
(Yes, We are sure that Jesus himself will come back and cast a ballot... Wacky!!)
Christian Broadcast News said:   Among the attendees were televangelists Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, conservative evangelical Christian Pastor David Jeremiah, TBN religious broadcaster Jan Crouch, Pastor Paula White, Jews For Jesus Rabbi Kirt Schneider and Pastor Darrell Scott. The meeting lasted roughly two and a half hours and ended with pastors gathering around Trump and laying their hands on him in prayer.  Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TthhM3gL3ZM

5) Ben Carson suggests more people should be armed - Including Kindergarden Teachers)
In a wide-ranging interview with Capital Download, Carson endorsed expanding efforts to identify and treat the mentally ill before they commit acts of violence. He also suggested it might make sense to arm kindergarten teachers, and he rejected as wrong-headed proposals to restore the ban on military-style assault weapons.

Gift/Memorial Suggestions

Several of our friends have lost loved ones (human and pets) and we found that one of the best ways to honor their memory is to give to an animal charity.
What better way to recognize a life of love, than by giving another life a chance for love?
We donate to many animal rescues, but because we volunteer with
DC Weimaraner Rescue and Coast-to-Coast Dachshund Rescue, those are our 2 favorites.
Consider giving the chance of life to a dog or cat.
