Comics News: Superboy Gets A New Series!
There are some superheroes I love more than others, and Superboy (a clone using Superman's and Lex Luthor's DNA) is one of them. Young, beefy, and figuring out the world as he grows up. I was excited to hear (thanks, Grey for sending) that he'll be back in comics again on a regular basis!
SUPERBOY RETURNS TO COMICS - Superboy has an ongoing series again! Writer Jeff Lemire, who emerged from indie sensation to buzzworthy with Sweet Tooth from Vertigo, then jumped into the DCU as the announced writer for The Atom's ongoing adventures in Adventure Comics as a co-feature starting this summer.
From the same Adventure, a one-off issue in August will introduce Superboy's new direction for his ongoing series, drawn by Italian artist Pier Gallo. On DCU Blog The Source, Lemire had this to say of the series. “I am really excited to be taking over the adventures of Conner Kent/Superboy in a new monthly series! The book will combine many of the classic touchstones of the Superboy mythos along with new supporting characters, new villains and new ideas, building a strong foundation that can support the Boy of Steel for years to come. I really want to work with our amazing artist Pier Gallo to combine a classic storytelling feel with a thoroughly modern sensibility and explore what it would really be like to be a super powered teenager, in the heart of rural America.”
