One of the fun things we've done with my (Rob's) mom is taking our dogs (Dolly the Weimaraner and Franklin the Dachshund) for walks. We've been doing that every afternoon and night with her (Rob takes them for an early morning walk daily, too, but it's too early for my mom)!
Our friends Susan and Cary recommended using a spray bottle of water when the dogs misbehave while walking. Sometimes when they see other dogs (especially small white dogs for some reason) they go crazy and try to get at them, barking and carrying on. Now that we have the spray bottle, they behave! Of course, the first couple of times they started going nuts with dogs passing by they got lots of squirts. In fact, the first time both Dolly and Franklin were soaking wet!! It was kind of funny. Anyway, we recommend it!! It works and its harmless!
