Good luck Jeff and Myrtle!

Jeff and Myrtle |
Yesterday our friend Jeff and his Chihuahua-Beagle (Cheagle) Myrtle headed west to Colorado. Jeff is going back to school to become a pastry chef and school is in Boulder.
Jeff and I (Rob) have known each other for 20 years, and we've always
lived in the same place. Jeff was the Best Man at our wedding in June
2009 and we've always been best of friends. So, it's a bittersweet time
for us and we will miss them both terribly, but email, social media and
phones make it easy to stay in touch.
Last night, our friend Janice flew into Washington, DC to help Jeff with the driving to Colorado. We all got to have a nice dinner together before they hit the road for the first part of their journey.

Personally, I (Rob) have always been living in the same area with Jeff for almost the last 20 years, and we've always been there for each other. When Jeff, Janice and Myrtle pulled off on the first leg of their trip, it was emotionally tough. I feel an emptiness inside and we both feel sad knowing that we just can't see Jeff on the weekend anymore.

Here are some pics from this past week where Jeff watched our kids one
night when we went away and others when Myrtle stayed here during the
week. We know that Dolly, Franklin and Tyler will also miss running
around with Myrtle in the backyard. They did leave a lasting impression
on her, though- Jeff said that our kids taught Myrtle how to bark!
