How to Make your Own Disinfectant : Bleach and Water

The Center for Disease Control offered this advice on how to make your own disinfectant
(we've been unsuccessful in finding ANY in store since March 15. You need bleach and water and clean out a spray bottle. Here's how you make it>>>

STEP 1: Take a Spray Bottle and clean it thoroughly (even with bleach and water).
STEP 2: GET THE BLEACH

Diluted household bleach solutions may also be used if appropriate for the surface.
Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.

NOTE:  Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser.

STEP 3: HOW To make a bleach solution, mix:
    • 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water
      OR
    • 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water
USE THIS TO SPRAY DELIVERED PACKAGES, MAIL, CLEAN THE MAILBOX, SPRAY ON PACKAGED GROCERIES
