Screening in the Porch
Last summer, we built a porch on a concrete slab we had poured in the back of the house. We put a roof on it (that Tom and Pat started replacing yesterday), and had it wired so we had a light and ceiling fan installed in it. Today, Sunday, we finally bought the screening and put it up. We started at 9:30am and finished at 4:45pm. It was an all day affair. Fortunately, it was really beautiful outside, around 69F.
The dogs enjoyed being outside all day with us, too. Dolly kept bringing her rope, and having us toss it while we were working - yes, about 5 hours of rope tossing until she finally tired! Meanwhile, Franklin just looked for new places to lie down every 30-60 minutes!
The porch is finally screened in. Our next challenge is getting the dogs to not jump through the screening (because they've been jumping through the openings since last August to get in the backyard). Once we got the screens up, and getting them to walk through the doors instead of jumping through the screens we opened the back door and said "wait." They didn't. They each jumped through a different screen section!! So, Tom fixed it. Now, we have to walk them out on leashes for awhile.
