Although we've watched a lot of romantic (straight) movies and TV shows, as a gay guy, I (Rob) have never read a straight romance novel... until now. My mother in law found a book that involves Dachshunds (since we're Dachshund and Weimaraner dads) called "Must Love Wieners" by Casey Griffin and gave it to us to enjoy. Disclaimer: She didn't read it but she should have! It was a cute "girl meets boy" story with 2 Dachshunds in the middle of it.The story had some mystery to it, like finding out who the person or persons were that were making things tough for the main character, a 26 year old Veterinarian student named Piper. Piper and her Dachshund, Colin went everywhere together. She drove a cab, did singing telegrams and volunteered at a dog rescue.
The 20-something love interest, Aiden was also a great character. I must confess, that if straight women go through continually doubting straight men, and questioning them when they do nice things, that's quite a challenge to have a good relationship.
Of course as a gay married man, it made me breathe a sigh of relief. LOL.
Seriously, this book was fun, the characters were fun and I enjoyed it. ..as I do with most books that involve Dachshunds or Weimaraners! A very cute love story.
