So How Many Rescue Dogs Have we Worked With?

For quite a number of years we've worked (and still work) with Coast-to-Coast Dachshund Rescue and D.C. Weimaraner Rescue. We've also helped with transports for other rescues, too. Many dogs are abandoned in the southern U.S., picked up by shelters, who in turn contact breed specific rescues. Those southern dogs are all then transported north for adoptions or fostering.
Each of these dogs had their own stories.

We've worked with Dog rescuers  Shelley Sehnert, Donna Gerhauser, Corinne Zoscak, Karin Bakken, Melinda Wharton, Janet Sailor Tobin, Melissa McMillion Ball , Tera Cunningham, Kristin Joi Sparkman, Amber Keirn, and many more rescuers to get these dogs to homes.
We've made great friends with some adopters for our fosters, like Whitney Packard Jaeger and Mike, Bob Brown, Arlene Talaga Brown, Olive Oyl, Cindy Curran and others.

Many of these dogs touched our lives and we want to honor them by remembering them here. Of course, we've had a couple of foster failures, that we adopted: Sprite and Tyler!

Here's a list of the dogs we fostered or transported:

Gracie- a Beagle Mix that we fostered.
2 Unnamed Dachshunds - rescued from a breeder (we watched for 3 days) sent on to permanent foster homes
Buddy the Weimaraner - Transported to Cathy in PA
Cooper#1 the Dachshund - Fostered and then adopted by Bob and Arlene in MD
Sprite the Dachshund - Fostered and we adopted!(passed 7-8-13)
Chance the Weimaraner - Fostered and adopted by Whitney and Mike in PA
Cooper#2 the Dachshund - Fostered and adopted by Shayne in MD
Tuck (mixed) - transported to Jon & Erin in VA
Tyler (Dachshund) - Fostered and we adopted in May 2013
Charlie (Dachshund)- from shelter, we transported to foster mom April in Md.
Rocco (Dachshund puppy) - from shelter, we brought to foster mom Kristin in Oct.
Abu (Dachshund mix) - from shelter, we brought to Emily for delivery to foster home in Delaware in Oct.
Doc, now Duncan (Dachshund mix)- from shelter, we brought to Katie
We adopted Tyler from fostering
Reds - from shelter, we transported a long-haired, senior red Chihuahua to Katie for transport to a Senior dog rescue in Virginia
Happy and Sami - transported from College Park, Md to Springfield, VA (Jan. 2013)
Gus - April brought Gus to us to appear at an adoption event at Pet Value, Gambrills, Md.
Max - transported from White Marsh, Md. to Bowie, Md. to go to April in a foster home.
JJ - This tiny 8 pound dog was transported from Washington, D.C. to Towson, Md. where we did a home visit and completed the adoption to a great family
Jethro- Home inspection for DASH Rescue to place this doxie/chihuahua mix.
Our late boy, Sprite was a foster we adopted
Grayson - Worked with this 12 yr old senior Weimaraner at the Pet Valu, Gambrills, md adoption event!
Heath - In Oct. 2014, we transported this 10 year old black/tan dachshund, and tried to foster him so our friend April wouldn't have 2 fosters. Over 2 days we realized that he had been abused by a man, and was afraid of us, so he went to April, and our latest foster came to us. That would be:

Mack- a sweet 12 year old black and tan dachshund we transported and watched overnight. http://www.rob-tom-dolly-franklin.blogspot.com/2014/09/dog-rescue-update-meet-sweet-12-yr-old.html
