ENGLAND TRIP: Day 7: Part 5: Thornbury Castle Garden and Royal Bedroom

Outside Castle wall and garden
(Tower of St. Mary's just beyond the wall).
This is a pictorial of the outside garden (from the 1500s), the royal bedroom that we stayed in at Thornbury Castle and the dining room that was once a bedroom for Queen Anne Boleyn (when she visited). The bedroom was so elaborate, and so historic that only photos and captions are needed.

The hotel's Royal Gardens - remarkably preserved
from the 1500s. Note the jagged unfinished masonry of the castle walls.

Fireplace in the Bedford Chamber.

Window that our ghost (Rupert)
violently opened at 5:30 a.m.!

Doorway to the bathroom from the main bedroom.
Note the pull cord that is the light switch.

Wall tapestry in the bedroom

Door to the Bedford Chamber (our room).
The amazing bed of the Bedford Chamber

View of door to the vestibule of the Bedford Chamber.

The hotel dining room
(Queen Anne Boleyn's bedchamber).

Gift/Memorial Suggestions

Several of our friends have lost loved ones (human and pets) and we found that one of the best ways to honor their memory is to give to an animal charity.
What better way to recognize a life of love, than by giving another life a chance for love?
We donate to many animal rescues, but because we volunteer with
DC Weimaraner Rescue and Coast-to-Coast Dachshund Rescue, those are our 2 favorites.
Consider giving the chance of life to a dog or cat.

About us

You'll find tidbits of all of these things on this blog and more.
