Man Thing the Movie on DVD- Not so Good, but Handsome Actor

Recently we watched the 2005 movie Man Thing on DVD. It was loosely based on a Marvel Comics character (that was created after DC Comics created the more famous and more interesting Swamp Thing character).  In fact, in Marvel comics, the Man Thing was somewhat heroic, but in this Grade C film Man Thing was an evil kill-happy creature (although, he did kill mostly evil men).  The thing that kept us watching were the two lead actors, one being Matthew Le Nevez, an Australian actor who is really handsome (and unfortunately didn't take his shirt off) and the other was Alex O'Loughlin, that many know from "Hawaii Five-O" on CBS.   We only stayed with the movie because of the two handsome actors. Otherwise, we would have skipped it

ABOUT THE MOVIE -

Man-Thing is a 2005 horror film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Directed by Brett Leonard, it stars Matthew Le NevezRachael Taylor, and Jack Thompson, with Conan Stevens portraying the title character. The film is influenced by Man-Thing comics written by Steve Gerber and follows a Louisiana sheriff (Le Nevez) as he investigates a series of deaths in a swamp, leading to him encountering the eponymous creature.

Originally intended for a theatrical release in the United States, the film premiered on the Sci Fi Channel under the Sci Fi Pictures label. It grossed $1 million against its $30 million budget from a small release in international theaters and received generally negative reviews from critics.
