ABOUT STACY - Born on November 25, 1966 in Washington, D.C., U.S. She released ten albums between 1979 - 1990 (seven albums at Cotillion and three at Motown and then she retired from the pop industry, to devote herself to gospel music. Now she and her husband live in Maryland.

She recorded her debut at the age of 12. She released a whole album of duets with Johnny Gill (1986) and two more singles with him in 1989.
SHE HAD A LOT OF SUCCESS! - She achieved crossover hits with "Jump To The Beat" (No.3 in the U.K., No.1 in U.S. Hot Dance chart) and her biggest hits in T'n'b charts were "Dynamite" (No.8, 1980), "Let Me Be Your Angel" (No.8, 1980), her cover on the Moments classic from 1970 "Love On A Two Way Street" (No.2, 1981), her cover of Gary Benson's hit from 1975 "Don't Throw It All Away" (No.9, 1982), "Nail It To The Wall" (No.4, R'n'B, No.2 Dance, 1986) and her duet with Johnny Gill, "Where Do We Go From Here" (No.1). She has also covered hits of Marvelettes from 1967 "When You're Young And In Love" (1979), Peaches & Herb from 1977 "Love Is Here Beside Us" (1979), "Spinning Top", a song that Ruth Waters released the same year (1979), Shirelles from 1958 "Dedicated To The One I Love", Petula Clark from 1964 "Downtown" (1979), "Guys Like You (Give Love A Bad Name)" a song that Donna Washington released the same year (1982), Eloise Laws from 1982 "I've Loved You Somewhere Before" (1983), Shirelles from 1961 "Baby It's You" (1984, a duet with Johnny Gill), Brenda K. Starr from 1985 "Love Me Like The First Time" (1986), Donna Washington from 1982 "One More Night" (1986), Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell from 1967 "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" (1988, duet with Howard Hewett), "I Don't Have The Heart" a song that James Ingram released the same year (1990) peaking at No.1. In 1987 she contributed to the soundtrack of "Police Academy 4: Citizens On Patrol" with "Dancin' Up A Storm". Her single "Attack Of The Name Game" (1982) was sampled on the album version of Mariah Carey's No.1 hit "Heartbreaker" in 1999.
