In today's blog, we're still biking through the city of Barcelona, Spain. This time we'll stop at the Park Ciutadella and show you an incredible fountain fashioned after a famous fountain in Rome. Can you guess which one? .
PARC DE LA CIUTADELLA - (Ciutadella Park) Catalan pronunciation: [parɡ də ɫə siwtəˈðeʎə] is a park on the northeastern edge of Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Catalonia. For decades following its creation in the mid-19th century, this park was the city's only green space. The 70-acre (280,000 m2) grounds include the city zoo (once home to the albino gorilla Snowflake, who died in 2004), the Palau del Parlament de Catalunya, a small lake, museums, and a large fountain.

FONT DE LA CASCADA ("Source of the Cascade")- is the name of the massive, elaborate fountain in the park. It was designed by Josep Fontserè (with possible contributions by the young Antoni Gaudí). It was made between 1875 and 1881. Fontsére aimed to loosely make it bear resemblance to the Trevi Fountain of Rome.
WHAT'S THE QUADRIGA DE L'AURORA?-
Atop the central part of the fountain is a golden sculpture called Quadriga de l'Aurora. It's a man in a chariot led by several horses and it was sculpted by Rossend Nobas. The fountain is located at the northern corner of the park opposite the lake.
