WHAT IS THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIND CALLED? Ciutat del Born
WHAT IS THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE? The ruins are the remains of houses and streets in the La Ribera neighborhood of Barcelona in 1700 which were demolished during the War of the Spanish Succession to build the military fortress of Ciutadella, now one of the city’s most important parks (that we talked about in the previous 2 blogs). The ruins serve as a testament both to life in the city and the consequences of the siege of 1714.
