Riding with the Dogs!

One of the dogs' favorite things to do is take a ride with us- and we love to accommodate them. In fact, our pickup truck is an extended cab, and the entire back seat of it is filled with pillows and comforters so they can ride in complete comfort, including treats, and chew toys. Here's a picture of Dolly and Franklin settling into the truck with Tom in the passenger seat. We were getting to do a run to the landfill, with trash generated from the construction of our big dormer window. We seem to love going to the landfill.

Franklin (Left) the dachshund and Dolly (right) the Weimaraner always try to vie for front snooting priviledges. We always watch to see who out-snoots who. Usually though, Dolly gives in and lets Franklin take the middle between the two seats as he fits there perfectly. She opts for lounging in the back, nibbling on a bone or "dental dinosaur!"

On Sunday, we visited our friends Richard and Hil and their spunky, lovable dog Amy. They live in Washington, DC - so it's always interesting navigating into the city -but it's always a fun time. It was a nice day on Sunday, too, partly sunny and 93F.
