Day 2: Major Home Renovation: a New Window Dormer
Construction has re-started on our 3-window dormer on the 2nd floor. Yesterday, the contractors cut through the roof and framed the area to expand the 2nd floor.Fortunately, they secured a large blue tarp over it, because our "Isolated thunderstorms" happened to ISOLATE right over our house last night at 10:30pm and rain like heck. In fact, the lightning was frequent and I'm sure I heard hail - so those were pretty powerful thunderstorms. This is a photo of the house from the outside with the tarp over the addition.
Here's a look at the inside of the room- the wall has been knocked down, and the frame has been built. We love the newly raised roof area, and we're thinking it would be great to keep it as a cathedral ceiling area.
