As someone who grew up reading comics in the 1970s, that's when Marvel Comics introduced the vampire character of Morbius. I believe he made his debut in Spiderman's comic book. In the comics, the Morbius vampire character was always a villain, but this movie took a different twist on him as a doctor trying to find a cure for his deteriorating condition. His "discovery" made him into a vampire who struggles with preventing himself from killing people. In today's Blog, you'll read my brief review and see a Trailer for the film.
MY REVIEW:The movie was pretty well done, the special effects were amazing, but it dragged after the first hour (it was 1 hour 44 minutes). It would have been much better had they introduced Spiderman into the film since it would have reflected the comic book debut in Spiderman Issue #101 in 1971.
I enjoyed Jared Leto's performance as the character, and he pulled off showing the struggle he dealt with between good and evil. The villain was a sad story, and the woman who played Michael Morbius' partner was okay. Both Tom and I gave it about a C+. Not something we'd watch again, but it was entertaining.
