Did you know that it was actor Jack Larson's performance on the 1950s TV show "The Adventures of Superman" that inspired a comic book about Jimmy Olsen, Superman's pal? It's true!
So, in the 1950s, DC Comics began publishing "Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen" (the photographer for the Daily Planet newspaper) comic book. It was a HUGE success. Jimmy got into all sorts of mis-adventures. It was a well-written and wonderfully illustrated series. I (Rob) recently enjoyed a special trade paperback collection called "The Amazing Transformations of Jimmy Olsen." I highly recommend this book, and will read it again and again!
