Hershey Park Day Out!

Scott and Brian on a rollercoaster
Yesterday's blog highlighted a tree-top adventure park where we took my (Rob) 2 nephews.Today's blog is about Hershey Park, Pennsylvania, where we took them, and my brother (the next day). The rides were fun, the trip there was grueling.Today's blog will give you some tips about ticket buying and "Fast Track passes," and our experiences on some rollercoasters and
the chocolate factory tour!  Read on!

BUY YOUR TICKETS AT AAA - Buy your park tickets at AAA, if you're a member of AAA. Adults were about $50 (and that includes kids over 12). If you're over 55 though, you qualify for the $45 senior ticket.

FAST TRACK PASSES -  You need to get these before you get to the park. If you get them on-line, they are $39 (one time per ride) or $49 each (unlimited times on each ride).  At the park, they SOAK you for $75 per person, for the one time per ride). https://www.hersheypark.com/tickets/fast-track.php

ROLLERCOASTERS- I think there are 14 rollercoasters at the park. Tom and the boys went on ALL of them. Doug sat 1 out, and I sat 2 out. I was queasy after 2 different rides.

Funhouse mirror!
WOODEN ROLLERCOASTERS- Just a tip, if you easily succumb to back and neck pain, skip the wooden rollercoasters. They rock you back, forth, side to side, up and down, and will surely dislodge something. None of us cared for either of the 2 long wooden coasters they had.

CHOCOLATE FACTORY TOUR - While my brother and the boys went to the water park, Tom came with me to the tour of the Hershey's Chocolate factory - which is really a ride in an automated car on a track through a building - Disney-style. It tells you how chocolate is made and it's pretty interesting. At the end, you go into the Hershey's store, so I had to get chocolate. :)

In a long line
Another insane Rollercoaster
All in all, it was a fun day. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the 3 hour drive up, and the 3 1/2 hour drive back. Fortunately, our friends and neighbors Stacey and Nathan took care of our canine kids for us!
