In the News: Trucker saves dogs thrown from vehicle on New York highway

Here's a story from New York news that makes you wonder how people can be so cruel and sick, while others are so loving and caring. I don't know if the SOB that tried to kill these 2 dogs was found, but I'm grateful to the Truck driver who immediately rescued them and the State Troopers who quickly helped. Here's the story and a video report.

A trucker driving nearby said the dogs were thrown from the rear passenger window of a dirty, rusty Dodge Durango. The trucker stopped and rescued the dogs.

New York State Police on Saturday asked for the public’s help in finding the suspect or suspects in the incident Wednesday morning on Interstate 81 near Whitney Point, about 16 miles (26 kilometers) north of Binghamton. So far, they said, they have no leads.

“These animals have been through a lot, and people need to understand that this is not OK,” said Amberly Ondria, shelter manager for the Broome County Humane Society. “This is not something that should be done.”

POSTING FROM THE HUMANE SOCIETY WHERE THE DOGS WERE TAKEN: While the investigation is open I'll just leave this here:   “There are options for people who no longer want to keep their pets. Take them to a shelter, call your neighbors, take them to a police station, take them to a fire station. Don’t dump them just reach out to some agency that can assist you in finding the right resources to place animals in a safe environment." - Karen Matson, Exec. Director The Broome County Humane Society.
