Follow Up on a Dog Rescue Donation at Work!

In December, Tom gave me a great holiday gift of helping fund the release of a dog from a kill shelter in Tennessee to be
fostered through Paws and Claws Rescue in Tipton, TN. He received the following update and photos of the dog named "Lilly," who is now a loving foster home (and awaiting adoption).
Update from Monday, January 26, 2015

Thank you all so much for donating so that we could get this darling puppy out of the Tipton shelter and to the vet for treatment!  We’ve named her “Lilly” and Lilly and her buddies went straight to the vet’s office for an examination.  Unfortunately they have sarcoptic mange (the contagious kind), but thankfully their foster mom Robbie is not scared of a challenge!  They are extremely itchy and uncomfortable, but that doesn’t stop the joyous puppy wrestling sessions.   They have begun treatment with medicated dips, and hopefully their skin will begin healing quickly.  Robbie just gave them their second medicated dip today.  She says they are all precious and just want to give kisses, so she has to bathe immediately afterwards (this is contagious to humans too).    Thank goodness for our awesome foster parents!

We will wait until they are healthy and closer to being ready to travel before we match them up with one of our partner rescue groups, but these babies will all be headed to loving families in New England eventually.  Lilly’s worries will soon be behind her and she will never be homeless or unwanted again!  Thank you for making this possible!!
