A Classic Marvel 600 page Collection: Essential Daredevil: The Man Without Fear! Vol. 4

Daredevil has always been a favorite superhero of mine since the 1970s. He's a Marvel Comics character who is blind but received "radar vision," he's acrobatic, smart (an attorney) and wears a tight, form-fitting red costume with small horns on his head. After enjoying the 2015 Netflix series about Daredevil starring Charlie Cox, and recalling the really great 2003 movie featuring Ben Affleck as Daredevil, I bought this collection.

I really enjoyed the collection, and the art by Gene Colan is great. The stories are a reflection of the 1970s, though and somewhat sexist - as the Black Widow character (who is now a very strong character in the Marvel universe) tended to be self-pitying, emotional, and full of self-doubt. Quite a difference from today's iteration. The Daredevil character is pretty consistent and the stories were enjoyable. - Rob
