For Valentine's Day, we decided to honor some of our friends who have passed by making a donation to a pet Sanctuary called Hotdoghill Sanctuary in Virginia. They take in senior and special needs dogs, and those that have lost their homes and may have little chance to be adopted. It's a wonderful place.
We made a donation In Memory of: Richard McKenney, Jeff Baker and Nick Wiltgen. 3 special friends who passed and whose spirit is now helping precious dogs.
ABOUT THE HOTDOG HILL SANCTUARY: Hot dog hill Sanctuary is not a foster home or rescue group. We are a forever home for senior dogs, special needs dogs and hospice dogs located in Virginia.
Sanctuary residents are dogs who have lost their families and homes through no fault of their own. Due to their advanced age and various medical conditions, they have little chance of being adopted. But because of the wonderful work we try and do, senior and special needs pets are given a loving and caring home where they will be allowed to live out their lives in a secure, nurturing environment. When you make donations those donations go directly to caring for the residents, for food, medical care and items that directly benefit the HDHS residents and not for Administrative or Operational expenses.

On Feb 10, we did a search for Dachshunds and there were 198 awaiting adoption in the Mid-Atlantic. ALMOST 200 Dachshunds alone, waiting for forever homes... That's just ONE breed.
