Too Funny: GOP Miami Congressional Candidate Says She Was Abducted By Jesus-Like Aliens

Aliens that looked like Jesus?!?!?!?

No , this is not a headline from the Enquirer newspaper, it's a legitimate headline from the Miami Herald where a Republican candidate for Congress claims she met "Jesus-like Aliens." 

  We're sure that since she said "Jesus-like" that Republicans will vote for this loon. Hahaha! Sad but true. Here's the story.

A Republican congressional candidate from Florida has made some out-of-this-world claims.

Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, one of nearly a dozen candidates hoping to win the U.S. House seat currently held by retiring Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, claims she was abducted by aliens who reminded her of Jesus Christ, according to newly resurfaced interviews.

“I went in. There were some round seats that were there, and some quartz rocks that controlled the ship ― not like airplanes,” Rodriguez Aguilera said, according to the interviews cited by the Miami Herald.

A Republican Wacko for Congress in Florida 

In the interviews, Rodriguez Aguilera claims she was taken at the age of 7 by three tall, blond space people who have communicated with her telepathically at times since.

She said the aliens reminded her of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.

“God is a universal energy, not a person,” the aliens told her, according to The Washington Post. “It’s in everything. God talks to people and they understand it in different ways, but there’s only one religion.”

She called the Herald report an “attack piece,” according to Miami ABC station Local 10. However, she did not mention whether she believed she had been abducted by aliens or if she had been in telepathic contact with them.

Rodriguez Aguilera issued a statement to the Herald that also did not confirm or deny her earlier comments on being abducted but noted that Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan both claimed to have seen UFOs. 

She also cited Stephen Hawking as someone who believes in the possibility of life beyond Earth.

Hawking, the famed theoretical physicist, has indeed said there could be intelligent life elsewhere and has even warned that such an advanced civilization could wipe out the human race. But Hawking is on record as saying he doesn’t believe aliens have visited the Earth.

“I’m discounting claims that UFOs contain aliens,” he said in 2012. “Why would they appear only to cranks and weirdos?”

The Miami New Times notes that Rodriguez Aguilera is one of three Republicans and eight Democrats seeking Ros-Lehtinen’s seat in next year’s midterm election

1) Texas Woman Claims She Used “God’s Authority” To Divert Tornado Towards Her Neighbors (December 28, 2015)

“We actually went outside and started commanding the winds because God had given us authority over the winds – the airways. And we just began to command this storm not to hit our area. We spoke to the storm and said, ‘Go to unpopulated places.’ It did exactly what we said to do because God gave us the authority to do that.” – Sabrina Lowe of Rowlett, Texas, speaking to NPR.
 Hundreds of homes and businesses were destroyed in Lowe’s hometown and eight people were killed in the town next door. 
The tornado didn’t move because of anything Lowe did. But if she wants credit for changing its path, she needs to bear responsibility for the people who died as a result of her supposed actions.

2) The Extremists Go All Out and Propose Marriage Bill to Squash Gays- In Tennessee, the  bigots have finally figured out a way to keep gay people from marrying. A new bill proposed says: The state will no longer issue marriage licenses, but instead recognize "common law" marriages that were all that the state had prior to the Civil War.  If couples wish to marry, they will have to go to churches, which are exempt from performing gay marriages.  Nice one.

 "Tennessee should stop issuing marriage licenses in response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision that made gay marriage legal," Tennessee  state Rep. Rick Womick said. "The state Constitution says that marriage is between one man and one woman, and my personal belief is that God says that marriage is between one man and one woman," said Womick, a Republican who resides in Rutherford County's Rockvale community southwest of Murfreesboro. "He created Adam and Eve. God didn’t create Adam and Winston."
