Book of the Week: The Twisted Dead by Darcy Coates

Here's an Appropriate book of the week because it's Halloween!  It's a fictional paranormal book from Australian author Darcy Coates called  "The Twisted Dead." It's book three in the Gravekeeper series. I previously read book one, so I need to find book two in the series. This is a GREAT BOOK!! - I finished it in a week... I took it everywhere, including dog walks! 

The lead character, Kiera, has a gift of seeing and communicating with earthbound ghosts. She lost her memory so only has a slight awareness of who she was, but made a new life tending a cemetery, cleaning gravesites, helping ghosts cross over. 

In this book, she tries to help a man rid himself of all ghosts of his ancestors who feed on him and weaken him. When she also tries to help comfort a friend whose classmate was murdered, she uncovers a dark secret tied to her past.  So, there's lots going on here. 5 of 5 stars

ABOUT THE BOOK- Keira must decide if she should use her ability to contact ghosts to help the man who once tried to kill her.

Great Paranormal Thriller: The Whispering Dead by Darcy Coates

Over the Halloween season, I decided to enjoy reading another horror/paranormal novel by Australian author Darcy Coates, and it was another page-turner!  "The Whispering Dead" captures you from the first chapter - when you meet Kiera, a woman who has lost her memory and is being pursued by someone through woods. From the minute she reaches a cemetery and the nearby pastor's house, strange things happen and she realizes she has a gift... while still not knowing her past. 

  I won't spoil it, but I will say it's worth reading. 5 of 5 stars!!!

A Great Paranormal Novel: Haunting of Ashburn House

 I recently read my third novel by Australian fiction writer Darcy Coates, and she knows how to pen good paranormal fiction. "The Haunting of Ashburn House" was another great novel that keeps the reader in suspense about who is haunting an old house, bequeathed to a young woman from a great aunt she never met. The author keeps you on edge with the crazy  paranormal happenings, and as you read the book you can picture "living" or being stuck in this dark, gloomy mansion because of poor finances. You'll want to read it quickly to find out exactly who is haunting Alison (the young woman) and her cat - and who is helping!

Another Amazing Novel by Darcy Coates: The House Next Door

Craven Manor was the first book I read by author Darcy Coates, and it was awesome. So I bought more, and "The House Next Door" was just as amazing and page-turning. I stayed up until 12:30am one night reading this book until I fell asleep. It is that good. In fact, I finished reading it in 2 days. The author's writing style draws you in from the perspective of the character, who is in paranormal situations. This one was hard to put down. Read it! 5 of 5 stars. - Rob
