The book event was in a distillery that was apparently an older, renovated barn, off of Route 1, the main route that runs north through Maine (actually from Key West, FL to the Canadian border!). The event was held at the Wiggly Bridge Distillery, York, Maine, and had a $10 admission, that gave you a free drink. Tom had one, and Rob had a "mocktail" because he doesn't drink.
ABOUT THE EVENT - Wiggly Bridge Distillery and The Booktenders, a local, independent bookstore in York, Maine, teamed up for the very first Boozy Book Fair, a one-of-a-kind event blending books, beverages, and holiday cheer. The place was packed, and attendees consisted of about 85% women. That's important for me to know, as many more women than men buy my "Pets and the Afterlife" series of books. More men are drawn to the ghost books.
Inside consisted of 1 large room and a bar at the back left side of the barn. Authors and book vendors had tables on the right side of the large room. People browsed a curated selection of books, met local authors such as Jody Clark and Diane Kane, and got books signed.
END RESULT - It seems like a good venue for me to sell my 12 true paranormal books. I spoke with the coordinators of both the brewery and the manager of the Booktenders bookstore. Both were very kind and seemed interested to consider me for next year's event. I'm also hoping to do an event or two at the Booktenders bookstore sometime in 2025. It's all about getting your name out when you write books.
