People who have owned weimaraners before and will go through some
lengths to adopt one instantly get my attention. I have found that when
something comes really easy, delivered on a silver platter, it's
sometimes not appreciated as it should be- and in the world of
adoptions, the dog pays the price. Adopting from us is not an easy, fast
process nor is it meant to be really...
There is so much that goes into it. These dogs deserve to be appreciated. When people commit to our adoption process I know the odds are they will be. (Although you can never be careful enough in my opinion!)
Krista and Ken came all the way from Newfoundland in Canada (it's an island Province in the Atlantic, they flew to get here then rented a car and drove for hours) to adopt Ghost- quite a journey! For a dog who does not have a "stellar" past.
Will they appreciate him? My vote is YES!
Ghost was so thrilled with his new people. I have never experienced a dog instantly just "click" with his new people like he did with them. It was like he knew them all his life. He just "knew" and he let me know he picked THEM!
He is a very special boy- wise beyond his years and such a personality. Today's adoption of Ghost was something I will never forget. Look at his face in the picture! He looks like the happiest dog in the world! Well least the happiest in Canada -eh?
