"Carabinieri Love": Another Great Novel by Josie Naclerio

I just finished enjoying Josie Naclerio's novel "Carabinieri Love," the third in the Carabineri (Italian military police) romance series. This is  another well-crafted novel with engaging characters that you want to come together. Just like the first 2 books in the series, this would make a great movie.

Like books 1 and 2, "Love in the Ruins," and "Italian Love," the central character is officer in the Carabinieri. A Carabinieri, for those of us who are unfamiliar with the word, are the national gendarmerie of Italy who primarily carry out domestic policing duties. It is one of Italy's main law enforcement agencies, alongside the Polizia di Stato and the Guardia di Finanza.

The officer, Riccardo Mariani, was born into a family that operated one of Italy's biggest movie studios, but he walked away as a teenager. The novel contains dark secrets, twists, turns and a lot of unexpected things, including a twisted adversary.

Riccardo's love interest is Sophia, Italy's foremost actress. There's love, anger, disappointment, romance and a story that will keep you wanting to read to the end! The other thing that I enjoyed about this novel, is that it builds on all of the characters the author introduced in her first two novels in the series, so you know what's happened with them.  Another great Carabinieri novel from Josie Naclerio!

I recommend read them all, and it does help to read them in order so you see how the characters interact and build over time. Five of five stars.

A Fantastic Novel of Police Action and Romance: Italian Love by Josie Naclerio

My friend Josie Naclerio recently published her third book in a series of romance/police action novels called the Carabineri Series (Italian military police). I read and reviewed the first one called "Love in the Ruins"  and it was awesome. It kept my attention, and I really felt as if I knew the characters. Like that book, book 2 in the series, called "Italian Love" is equally as enthralling and builds off two of the characters from the first book.
So, here's how I summarize this book:Secrets, Steamy Seduction, Kidnapping and Police Action

In book 2 of the Carabineri Series, Federico, a handsome military policeman in Italy's Carabineri force longs for love, although still coping with witnessing a horrific murder. When he learns about Abbey Capelli there is an instant fascination and it's mutual. However, an attractive Greek businessman is also vying for Abbey's love and seems ready to do anything to get it. In this story of secrets, steamy seduction, romance, kidnapping and police action, the author takes you into a world where a man must truly fight for love.
***ANYONE who likes POLICE ACTION or ROMANCES should read these. I told her that BOTH of these books need to be made into films. Really!

Book Review: Love in Ruins, by Josie Naclerio: A Police drama, passionate romance with an exotic Italian setting.

Here's my official review on "LOVE IN RUINS" by Josie Naclerio. I don't normally read romances, but this one was much, much, much more that that. It's a 5 of 5 Star Novel: A Police drama, passionate romance with an exotic Italian setting. This has all the makings of a great movie!

This breakthrough novel has everything. It has engaging characters that you grow to care about. It has police drama, sizzling romance, and all in the mysterious setting of Pompeii, Italy.

This is a police drama with a passionate romance that brings together the lead characters, Gian, an Italian military police officer with a past the resurfaces to haunt him, and Rebecca, an American archaeologist from Texas who is working in Pompeii. Fate brings them together, and a ghost from Gian's past may tear them apart.

As I read this, I thought this would make a fantastic movie. The writer paints a clear picture of the settings, characters, and their feelings. There's also the aspects of family dynamics the author covers brilliantly, bringing in the main characters' two families. I found this to be a page turner, and it kept me on edge, wondering when and how the "ghost" from Gian's past would catch up to him.

Truly, this author has a great future. She knows how to tell a story, make characters come alive, and keep the reader interested.
