HOW BIG IS MAINE? Maine is almost as big as all of the other five New England States put together! Its about 320 miles long and 210 miles wide, and has a total area of approximately 33,215 square miles. To drive from the southernmost point, the city of Kittery to the northern point on the border of Canada, Fort Kent, Google Maps says it would take 5 hours 48 minutes using the highways. It's about 362 miles long.

One county (Aroostook) is so big (6,453 square miles) that it actually covers an area greater than the combined size of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
