Our New Backyard Deck!

It's a little tricky, weatherwise to plan outside work during the month of March in southern Maine, but a contractor we worked with (who was awesome) found enough days to build the perfect deck for us.

During the week of March 17th here in Northern New England, we had a span of several days near 50F and sunshine (with 1 cold, rainy day in between) before we got socked with 4" of snow and ice (last week's blog). During that nice period, we had a back deck built.

The deck is located on the back side of the house, outside the kitchen door (which just went to a stairway that Tom constructed). Tom carefully picked the materials, like a composite wood floor that doesn't need painting and won't rot. We also found great side panels that we and the dogs can see through to admire the woods in the backyard.

Chris, the contractor was amazing. Always on time, friendly, hardworking, professional and built the most level, beautiful, deck ever.
