2 Great Comic Paperback Collections: Superman in the Forties; Superman in the Seventies

Back in the early 2000s, DC Comics released a series of trade paperback collections on Superman, highlighting the decades from the 40s to the 80s. I recently enjoyed the collections of Superman in the 40s and in the 70s. I grew up reading comics in the 1970s, so those were a favorite. These are definitely keepers. I loved many of the stories when I first read them and loved them all over again.

SUPERMAN IN THE 70s: This is a GREAT COLLECTION!  It collects thirteen of the Man of Steel's greatest adventures during the 1970s and sees many changes for Superman, including Clark Kent's promotion from newspaper reporter to TV newscaster.  This has 2 of my all time FAVORITE Superman stories that I remember reading as a teenager. The one about Krypto, Superman's dog called "Who was that dog I saw you with last night," and "Superman Takes a Wife" about how the Earth-2 Superman married Lois Lane.  - Rob

Issues included:
Superman #276 - "Make Way for Captain Thunder!"
DC Comics Presents #14 - "Judge, Jury...and No Justice!"
Superman #248 - "The Man Who Murdered the Earth!"
Superman #271 - "The Man Who Murdered Metropolis!"
Superman #249 - "The Challenge of Terra-Man"

Superman #247 - "Must There Be a Superman?"
Superman #270 - "I Can't Go Home Again!"
Action Comics #484 - "Superman Takes a Wife!"

SUPERMAN IN THE 40s: What a great collection to see how Superman started his comic book history. It's interesting to see how his powers and actions changed over time.
