Idiots of the Week: Churchgoers During a Pandemic and Returning Idiot: Tucker Carlson

This week's Idiots of the Week are people who are so DELUDED that being in a church is
going to spare them from the DEADLY COVID19 Virus and  a return winner:Fox News' Tucker Carlson who Blames ‘Diversity’ And ‘Wokeness’ For Coronavirus.

BUNCH OF IDIOTS #1:  People who attend Chuches  During a Pandemic
People in several states have been shown in news broadcasts as attending church services, and being in packed churches. One CNN reporter interviewed people in Ohio, and several congregants said "The blood of Jesus covers me and protects me from all disease."  THAT IS JUST MENTAL ILLNESS TALKING.   WTH is wrong with people?
The reporter said "Don't you fear spreading the deadly virus to others?" They all answered, "No."
BOTTOM LINE: These Churches and their attendees will prevent the U.S.A. from ever getting COVID19 under control because they are INSANE.  It's going to be a long haul with this virus because of religious wackos.

MAJOR IDIOT #2: Fox News' Tucker Carlson

The Fox News host turned to racism as the outbreak continued to spread.
The Fox News host on Monday appeared to blame the spread of coronavirus on diversity and the “cult” of wokeness.
In a “Tucker Carlson Tonight” segment about the expanding outbreak of the virus called COVID-19, the right-wing personality joined growing racism against Asians since the virus emerged in China.

Carlson claimed the media has underplayed the danger of the virus out of political correctness. “If you think maybe we ought to take some steps to protect ourselves from it, then you’re a bigot,” he said.

After citing news articles about racial profiling against Asians (the virus originated in Wuhan, China), Carlson made a head-scratching pivot:

“Identity politics trumped public health and not for the first time,” he said. “Wokeness is a cult. They would let you die before they admitted that diversity is not our strength.”

BONUS IDIOT: Meanwhile, ultraconservative radio host Rush Limbaugh claimed the media was exaggerating the illness to take down President Donald Trump, and that coronavirus was nothing more than the “common cold.”

Idiot of the Week: Fox News Host Tucker Carlson: Promotes White Nationalist Theory

Fox Network News is the channel for you if you're a White nationalist, bigot, racist, homophobic, a misogynist, or sexist, or if  you just like stupid conspiracy theories. Tucker Carlson, one of the hosts that embodies those qualities was at it again spouting White Nationalism. So, he''s the Idiot of the Week! (really, idiot of the year).

FOX NEWS HOST PROMOTES WHITE NATIONALIST THEORY
June 4, 2019 - Huff post

Fox News Tucker Carlson< continues to tout a conspiracy theory popular with neo-Nazis about South Africa’s post-apartheid land reform plans and their links to an alleged ― and unproved — “genocide” against white farmers. Despite evidence to the contrary, Fox News host Tucker Carlson continues to tout a conspiracy theory popular with neo-Nazis about South Africa’s post-apartheid land reform plans and their links to an alleged ― and unproved — “genocide” against white farmers. Carlson caused a furor last year when he suggested — and President Donald Trump later parroted — that South Africa’s land expropriation proposal was tantamount to the government stealing “land from people because they are the wrong skin color.” Experts lambasted Carlson’s segments on the issue, telling the Daily Beast they were “filled with factual errors” and noting that the land reform plan would not target landowners based on race. Carlson’s suggestion that white South African farmers were facing a disproportionate level of violence was also roundly debunked.

On Monday, however, Carlson doubled down on these white nationalist talking points on his show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

He told his viewers about “the plight of farmers in South Africa,” claiming that “hundreds” of them had been killed in recent years in a spate of “racist” violence.

“Instead of protecting the farmers, the government of South Africa has worked to change its country’s laws in order to seize their land without compensation,” Carlson asserted. “Skin color is a central motivation here. Nobody denies that.”

“This is racist violence as brutal and horrifying and indefensible as anything that happened under apartheid ― the difference is this time the Western media is cheering it on,” Carlson added, going so far as to accuse The New York Times of suggesting that white farmers “deserve” to be murdered because the paper did not say whether the recent killing of a white farmer was definitively related to a land dispute.

An analysis by The Washington Post last month found that South African farmers are far less likely to be the targets of violent crime than the country’s general population.

“No evidence exists that white South Africans are indeed targeted by excess violence. Rather, [South African white rights groups] use the fear of targeted racial violence to find sympathetic audiences to pressure their government into action,” the Post said.
