Light and dark roast coffee |
Lighter roasted coffees are healthier than dark roasted, but BOTH are good for you. They increase metabolism, make you feel full, increase blood flow, give you energy to exercise and both contain antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
Here's a summary of the study:
A new study suggests opting for a light roast over dark. The 2017 study was published in the Journal of Medicinal Food. Korean researchers compared coffees of several different roasting levels, analyzing their caffeine content and levels of chlorogenic acid, a well-known antioxidant. They also exposed extract of each coffee to human cell cultures to test their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
