Here's some video I took from our front door of the beginning of this morning's severe thunderstorm. The lightning was mild in this video, and really ramped up afterward. Note that the rain was so heavy it appears to be rolling down the street in waves.
Here's the National Weather Service Bulletin: AT 735 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM BOWIE TO CORAL HILLS TO THE I66 AND I495 INTERCHANGE...AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30 MPH.
