Microwave Blues- Lesson: Check the Internet for installation/removal
If you own or rent a house, there's always something to do. Cooking, laundry, gardening, shopping and cleaning are only the beginning. Something will always go wrong somewhere- and our over the stove microwave was falling apart, so we had to buy a new one! (which is good, because half the appliances we have are steel, and the old microwave was beige). Anyway, the "30 minute" removal of the old one from the wall took 1 1/2 hours, because of a "hidden latch." - Tom found it by going on-line to an appliance blog- and learned many others had the same removal issue problem. Anyway, it's up and running, and we found out that Lowe's would've charged us $184 to install it, if we didn't find that hidden latch. SO, check the Internet, and check blogs (especially repair blogs).
