Yesterday, Sunday, June 11, 2017, Tom and I (Rob) participated in the Equality March in Washington, D.C. We marched with our friends Lynn, Hugh, Tom and Joe in the 95 degree heat through the streets of Washington, DC calling for equal rights.

We also got to meet our friend Sterling, who is part of the Washington, D.C. LGBT police outreach group and was at one of the tents on Pennsylvania Avenue at the end of the march.

MEETING BRIAN SIMS!

A true highlight for us was seeing and actually meeting Brian Sims. Brian K. Sims is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 182nd district. Elected in 2012, Sims is also a lawyer and activist on LGBT civil rights. His Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/brian.k.sims/ and website: http://sims4pa.com/

REASONABLE ANTI-TRUMP PROTESTS
Of course, there were a lot of people with some clever  anti-Donald Trump signs, since he doesn't believe in equality. He's also the first president in a long time that didn't mark June as Pride month for LGBT people, despite him saying "I love the L-B-G-T people." (Yes, he jumbled the acronym, not surprisingly).
