St Mary's, is a cathedral of the Church of Ireland in Limerick city, Ireland which is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was founded in 1168 and is the oldest building in Limerick which is in daily use.
WHO WAS EDMOND SEXTON? - While we were visiting King John's Castle we learned about Edmond Sexton, a man who was not very well liked in past Limerick history. In fact, after he died, people hated him so much that in 1554 he was secretly removed from his tomb by Alderman Christopher Creagh (Sexton's brother-in-law) and David White, the church organist.
