Hailstones from Tuesday's Storms / Today's Severe Weather Forecast


Late Tuesday afternoon Waynesboro, PA just above Hagerstown, MD – on the Mason-Dixon Line received one of the many severe thunderstorms. It produced quarter-sized hailstones. One of my co-workers ran outside and picked up a few of them. This is a photo he took of them next to a quarter.
TODAY'S FORECAST FOR BALTIMORE/WASHINGTON –
FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE TONIGHT
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH LIKELY LATER: A FEW OF THE STORMS COULD BECOME SEVERE... WITH DAMAGING WIND GUSTS AND LARGE HAIL. IN ADDITION... HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED. WITH SOILS ALREADY SATURATED FROM PREVIOUS RAINS...FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE.
