Here's the story of an idiot (with a rifle in his car) who followed someone that realized it... and the intended victim was smart enough to go to a police station. When the idiot got out of his car with a shotgun and fired at police, they fired back and killed him.   Here's the story.

RUMFORD (WGME) – Police say a 23-year-old Maine man, who was reportedly armed with a rifle, died after being shot by deputies in Rumford on Monday.

Authorities say Rumford police officers and Oxford County deputies were interviewing a person outside the Rumford Police Department on River Street around 8:20 p.m.

The person told officers they had concerns about being followed by a car driven by someone they didn't know.

During the interview, a car matching the description pulled up, and the man driving the vehicle confronted the officers with a rifle.

Shots were then fired by the deputies.

The man, 23-year-old Sean Dyment of Canton, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The two officers, Oxford County Sheriff’s Deputy Corporal Joshua Aylward and Deputy Matthew Steinort, were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Attorney General’s Office, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.
