Idiot of the Week: Man tried to cut a bike lock in a police parking lot

 This week's idiot decided to steal a bike outside of a police station. Of course, he was caught. Here's the story.

Man allegedly tried to cut a bike lock in Police parking lot

MBTA (Boston Subway) Transit police are shaking their heads after a man allegedly tried to steal a bike from the parking lot of police headquarters on Monday, June 12, 2023.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man around 10 a.m. just 20 yards from the police station, after they say they caught him attempting to cut a lock off a bike that was affixed to a pole in the lot, the agency tweeted.

Police said they also found an additional pair of bolt cutters in his possession.

Transit police couldn't help but judge the suspect's poor choice of location.
