Mary Poppins Returns was wonderful. The acting, the characters, the magical adventures that Mary Poppins took the children on, the music, acting and the animations were great. There is a villain in this film but the film is uplifting and a fun escape.
Emily Blunt really did a great job bringing in the Julie Andrews characterization of Mary Poppins back to the screen. She had the mannerisms down, and has a wonderful voice, too. Ben Whishaw was a great dad character to the Banks family children (you'll remember the Banks family from the original movie in the 1960s). We also can't say enough great things about the talent of the Chimney Sweep, played by actor Lin-Manuel Miranda. His dancing and singing were amazing.
With Dick Van Dyke and Angel Lansbury's cameos it was perfect. (Of course I, (Rob) am a huge fan of Angela Lansbury- so seeing her was a huge bonus)
We really felt good after seeing the movie, and that's always a good thing.
