Italy Blog #32- Florence: Palazzo Corsini

best statue in the collection!
In the 32nd blog about Italy, come with us through the Palazzo Corsini. It's Palazzo Corsini is a museum with examples of Baroque style in Renaissance Florence, and rooms full of beautiful frescoes and stuccoes, perfectly preserved. There's also a majestic Throne Room.

Rob's take- Although there were some nice pieces in here, I would skip it. (The pic of the sculpted naked guy was the highlight for me- LOL!).

THE HISTORY - In 1649 Maria Maddalena Macchiavelli, the wife of the Marchese Filippo Corsini, purchased the palace from the Grand Duke Ferdinando II de’ Medici.Today it is in the hands of their descendants Miari Fulcis and Sanminiatelli.
Most famous: St. Stephen by Giotto
PERSONAL ART COLLECTION - One of the last owners was Herbert Horne. He was a rich silk merchant turned art collector in 1849. He collected artwork, paintings and fine furniture. One of the highlights of the collection is "St. Stephen by Giotto di Bondone."
