In November I contacted Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
in Utah about my book "Pets and the Afterlife." I have donated to the
animal sanctuary for some time, and was amazed and overwhelmed with
their response to saving pets after Hurricane Katrina struck New
Orleans, Louisiana and surrounding communities.(Being a meteorologist it
was even more amazing because these volunteers basically went into what
looked like a war zone after Katrina passed through).
I signed a one-year agreement with Best Friends to provide a percentage
of profits from the sale of my paperback books done through the
publisher's website (Createspace) to give back to them. So I'm a "A Best Friends Business Supporter."

ABOUT BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY: Best Friends Animal Society, founded in its present form in 1991,
is an located in Southwestern Utah in Angel Canyon (formerly Kanab Canyon) near Kanab. Best
Friends works nationwide in outreach programs with shelters, other
rescue groups and members to promote pet adoption and spay-and-neuter
services. The sanctuary is on 3,700 acres (15 km2) with an additional 33,000 acres (130 km2)
leased from the United States Bureau of Land Management near Zion
National Park, the Grand Canyon's North Rim, Bryce Canyon National Park,
and Lake Powell.
