DC Area Weimaraner Rescue Event: Part 1 / Rescue Home Inspection

Rescue manager Karin working a Weim
On Saturday, March 8, I had a busy day of dog rescue activities. At 8:30 a.m. I met with potential adopters to do an inspection of their home.

DOG RESCUE HOME INSPECTION!
Rescues are very careful about adopting dogs out to ensure they're going to a good place and won't be turned out onto the street again, and part of that process is a walk through in someone's home and a sit-down interview with the potential adopting family. Because we're on an interactive network that includes several dog rescues, we were asked to do an inspection for DASH Rescue.net. So, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, I did the inspection and met everyone. The dog they're adopting would have a really nice, large, fenced-in backyard!  The interview and inspection lasted about 1 hour.

4 Weimaraners Ready to Meet and Greet!
After the home inspection I was off to another dog rescue appointment. Because we've worked with Pet Valu in Gambrills, Md. before for Coast-to-Coast Dachshund Rescue (and the Baltimore location), I helped coordinate a rescue appearance for the DC Area Weimaraner Rescue as well. That event happened on Saturday, March 8.
2 more beautiful Weimaraners

A lot of Weimaraner owners and foster parents showed up with their beautiful "Gray Ghosts" (as they're known). The temperature finally warmed up to 60F so we were all outside in a tent that the store manager was kind enough to put up for us.
There were quite a few visitors who had interest in the Weimaraners, and hopefully some will be fostered or adopted.  ***FOSTER HOMES ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED***
